A message from Steve- Looks like fun!

Greeting, climbers!
Next Sunday morning (May 18), 8-noon, I'm offering a half-day workshop at Taylor's Falls that I'm calling "North Shore Ready." This workshop focuses on the specialized techniques you need for setting anchors and belaying in a top belay setting, such as Shovel Point and Palisade Head. Specifically, we will be doing:
top belay anchors, belay tools and techniques for top belay (GriGris/Cinches, lowering, rappel, belayed rappels) assistance and rescue (escaping the belay, 3:1 lifting systems)
Such a workshop is necessary in single-pitch top rope settings where there is no access to or walk-off from the bottom. On all routes at Shovel Point, and most routes at Palisade Head, climbers must be lowered to the start of the climb, and must climb and top out. So this workshop is absolutely essential for your climbing safety on the North Shore. The techniques learned in this workshop are also highly relevant in multi-pitch settings, both trad and sport. The only prerequisites are competent belay skills, and some ability to set bottom belay top-rope anchors (like what you usually do at Taylor's Falls). You will need a GriGri or Cinch. I can provide you with a GriGri, or any other personal climbing gear. Let me know what you need. I will also give you a 10% discount on a Trango Cinch in advance of the workshop.Cost: $65 (minimum 4 people, maximum 6 people). This is an extremely low price. The invitation is for you (and your friends and families).Contact me by e-mail or call me at 651-253-4903 to sign up.
Best wishes,
Steve--
