The 3 + rules of mountaineering.

"It's always further than it looks.
It's always taller than it looks.
And it's always harder than it looks."

and as Carl often reminds me; If you are not tired and cold, you are not mountaineering

These are the 3 rules I learned:
1. Never walk when you can ride
2. Never stand when you can sit
3. Never sit when you can lie down

oh and you should always be doing something. Preparing your gear, drinking water, eating food.... and resting is doing something.
