You Never Know When Rope Skills Are Handy

The Singapore Flyer - the world's largest Ferris Wheel - got stuck and many passengers had to be lowered by rope.

And here's a photo of the rescue workers climbing the spokes. We could do that.

I can tell all the climbing classes and experience is paying off for me. I wanted to clean snow off my roof and figured the best way would be to anchor my climbing rope on both sides of the house and use a loop with a prussik attached to my rope for a safety line attached to my harness. I was thinking yep that'd work but I was able to get enough snow off with the rake instead :)
